This plugin adds roughly 300ms of total blocking time. Deactivation fixes the issue. Is there a setting in the plugin that can defer the loading issue?

Hi @rrestani thanks for getting in touch. There isn’t a setting within the plugin to defer loading. I’d be happy to check your setup to see if anything in particular stands out. To do this, could you share your Site Health information. You can use this form to share privately if preferred.

I’d also like to point you to our Front-end performance with Site Kit page which may provide you with some further useful information on performance when using Site Kit.

We have also been carrying out an internal performance audit on Site Kit where we are still evaluating the data. Early findings from the audit show that there are generally no concerning performance degradation when comparing Site Kit added code vs manually added script tags.

There are other areas we are looking to improve upon once the audit is complete but with this in mind, you shouldn’t be experiencing any significant performance issues as the result of using Site Kit on your site.

Hi Adam, thanks. I submitted the info about the site as requested. I read through the link you provided as well. In my case I have A/B tested using the pagespeed site how my site loads with site kit activated vs. deactivated and when its activated it adds 300ms to “total blocking time” and directly affect the page and lowering the score to the low 70’s high 60’s.

@rrestani Thank you for submitting the information. I can’t see anything that particularly stands out here. You do have a number of plugins activated on your site which will inevitably contribute to longer load times on your site.

You could also try comparing the load times when you have manually placed the Google service codes on your site to when Site Kit is placing these codes. You should see similar results when doing this.

As mentioned above also we are still in the process of reviewing our data on Site Kit and site performance and will make any improvements where we see there needs to be.

Let me know if you have any further questions.
