[NSFW] Tooltips in categories

    Hi!

    I like the plugin very much, but I cannot find a way to use tooltips in categories, here woocommerce product-categories.
    Is there a way to embed the tooltips with a shortcode or sth similar so that I don’t have to hardcode it?
    Atm I make it like this:
    [tooltips keyword="vegetabil" content="Vegetabil oder auch pflanzlich..."]
    although I created the tooltip vegetabil that does work on pages, products, posts…
    So I’m asking for sth like
    [tooltips embed="vegetabil"]
    in (product-)categories.

    Or did I just not find the option? Ain’t easy for non-English speaker…

    I am not sure I understand you correctly or not, in general, you do not need use tooltip shortcode, because you can just enter tooltips title and content in tooltips editor, in tooltips editor, you can upload your image… and so on, in front end, wordpress tooltips plugin will scan content in your wordpress posts, if there are tooltip terms, wordpress tooltips plugin will add tooltips effect on tooltips terms automatically 🙂

    I am not sure means of “embed”, in some cases, if you’d like to use tooltips shortcode, I guess may be you meant is, in the current time, tooltips shortcode works well, but you don’t want to input tooltips content in tooltips shortcode, you want to use tooltip content from tooltip terms which you made in tooltips editor, so you can save time to make tooltips faster? In the current time, we have this feature in tooltips pro version, for example, our shortcode tooltip_by_id can “embed” just via tooltip id, and use our icon_tooltip_by_id shortcode… and so on. 🙂

    If you meant add tooltip effect in products in woocommerce product categories, we have woocommerce tooltip function in pro version too 🙂

    If I miss-understand your means, sorry for this, more question is welcome 🙂

    Yes, I meant product categories are not scanned.
    So I have to buy pro version.
    (Or work with my dirty workaround – I won’t search the source code for this function, would cost me weeks^^)

    We have added tooltip_by_id shortcode to the wordpress tooltip free plugin, so free users can use this function to add tooltips effect to their wpform, or page builder like gutenberg / elementor / beaver / visual composer… and so on 🙂

    Hi!

    Thank you for your work, but it doesn’t work 🙁

    If I write [tooltip_by_id tooltip_id=’1121′] in a product category of woocommerce there will be the Word “Bastinada” (this is the word explained in id 1121), but no underline and no popup.
    In a woocommerce product it works (but unnecessary as tooltip crawls these pages).
    I also thought of a tooltip with the shipping costs (Versand), but when I add [tooltip_by_id tooltip_id=’1121′] here, you see: “[tooltip_by_id tooltip_id=’1121′]”. But that is not important – better not show shipping costs at first sight^^)

    I’m still on my workaround with the content 🙂
    Although I have to update it every time in every category by hand when I update the tooltip.

    Feedback.

    Now I went another way. I don’t show the category in the menu but made a new page with the text.
    Of course here are the tooltips.

    And I added the shortcode
    [product_category category=”franziska” per_page=”12″ columns=”4″]
    and everything is fine.

    (Nearly everything – now I’m looking how to add the number of products and a dropdown to change the orderby…)

    Would you please try to insert the shortcode
    [tooltip_by_id tooltip_id=’1121′]

    to your wordpress standard post or wordpress standard page, will it works?

    In posts and pages it works perfect, just if you use products – categories – description as a text field (and I also made it to add a picture^^)…

    I now made a new category for you:
    tooltip

    The code is:
    [tooltips keyword="Edelstahl" content="Wir verwenden mehrere Edelstähle, die wie alle Arten Nickel enthalten.
    Besonders empfindliche Menschen können darauf allergisch reagieren, auch wenn sämtliche Grenzwerte eingehalten werden.
    Wir haben darauf geachtet, daß bei sachgemäßem Gebrauch unserer Produkte die Haut nicht über längere Zeit mit dem Metall in Berührung kommt."]

    [tooltip_by_id tooltip_id=’1121′]
    foo and bar

    The “tooltips keyword=”Edelstahl” content=”Wir…” used to work – now not anymore. Strange. You just see the underlined word “Edelstahl”.
    Then “text, foobar”. Correct.
    Tooltip with id doesn’t show up at all.
    Then “foo and bar”. Correct.

    You see, I wrote the whole tooltip directly into the code.
    And with by id you cannot see anything.

    For me it’s ok as I don’t show the categories (you also don’t find categories as a link). I made pages instead of categories.
    I just want to help to help you with your great plugin 🙂

    We checked in on our site, sorry,in the current time, WooCommerce Archive tooltip is only supported by woocommerce tooltip addon in wordpress tooltip pro version, we will think about add it in the future versions 🙂
