    I updated WooCommerce in the plugins area of my site today and the site is now offline and I cannot even enter recovery mode! I deleted Jetpack Boost via ftp but did not fix the issue.

    Error Details
    =============
    An error of type E_COMPILE_ERROR was caused in line 89 of the file /usr/home/autox9bf/public_html/jefferis.gallery/wp-content/plugins/jetpack-boost/vendor/jetpack-autoloader/class-version-loader.php.

    Error message: require_once(): Failed opening required ‘/usr/home/autox9bf/public_html/jefferis.gallery/wp-content/plugins/woocommerce/src/StoreApi/deprecated.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/local/lib/php’)

    UPDATE: when I looked via FTP, I had enabled auto updates but then pressed update now in the plugins folder. More than 1/2 of the assets of WooCommerce were not in the folder as compared to a fresh download, so something prevented the update from completing.

  • Hi there @jefferisp7,

    Thanks for reaching out.

    I understand you are facing an error after updating WooCommerce to the latest version, but even after deleting Jetpack Boost via FTP, the error persists.

    Could you try reinstalling a previous version of WooCommerce, which you can find here, and check if the issue persists?

    In the meantime, we are actively investigating these issues and for more information, please consult this developer advisory.

    After installing the entire woo plugin manually via FTP and with some help from my HOST, who disabled the plugin entirely for me (they had to do it!) I was able to get back into recovery mode and turn the plugin on after my manual update. IT now works, but my entire site was down for 43 minutes. NOT GOOD>

    Hi @jefferisp7,

    It’s great to hear that you were able to manually update and reactivate the WooCommerce plugin with the help of your hosting provider.

    In the future, to avoid such issues, we recommend you to always back up your site before making any updates or changes. Also, it’s a good practice to test these updates on a staging site before applying them to your live site.

    With that said, I’ll go ahead and mark the thread as solved. Should you have any further questions, please feel free to reach out.

    All the best.
