Theme esquire. Facebook and wordpress comment errors

Okay, so i’m using the theme ‘Esquire’. I’ve manually installed the facebook comments code, however my posts are now showing both the facebook comments and wordpress comments. I only need facebook comments to show. I have disabled the settings in the admin panel and still they show. I have also tried deleting <?php comments_template( '', false ); ?>‏ but this deletes both FB and WP comments. Other than social WP plugins (which seem to all fail on WP 3.3.1) how can i fix this?
