Success Message does not display on submit

When the form has been filled out and the ‘send message’ button is clicked, the form is configured to hide the form and display a success message, however it does not display the success message.

Not hiding the form has no effect on this behaviour.

The form is embedded into the template using the ‘do shortcode’ functionality.
