  • Hi there carl,
not sure if I follow what you mean correctly, are you talking about ability to subscribe to post digest – as a wordpress registered user? All users registered in wordpress have the option in their profile.

As for normal subscription – you can use widgets, shortcodes, template codes, or simply add subscribers thru admin form located on subscribers listing.

If it’s something else, can you describe more specifically please, I’m more than happy to help.

Hi Mart, thanks for the quick response and sorry for the confusion.

In the user profile there is a checkbox to subscribe to new post digests. If I check this box and save the user profile, the checkbox setting isn’t saved.

    Thanks,

    Carl

Let me check that for you πŸ™‚

    Alright,

try to update to the latest version, I’ve made some changes in behaviour of saving the user meta data (subscription) and tested it both on my local and production server with both admin / and other profiles everything seems flawless now. πŸ™‚

    Let me know if anything,
    Mart

    Mart,

I tested and it still doesn’t work. I do have some more info. If I am logged in as administrator and can set it on my own profile but no other profiles. If I log in under another user profile I can set it on that profile. So you can only set it if you are logged in as the user.

    Thank you,

    Carl

Oh, I totally misunderstood you Carl.

What you are describing here – is absolutely correct behaviour. Even tho you are an admin, you shouldn’t be able to set up anyone’s profile to “subscribption” – that is their choice, optional.

I know that there is the form to add a subscriber manually – but I’ve made that there just becuase the import functionality is still being developed. And that form won’t allow you to add a subscriber, if the e-mail address is already in system, meaning either in subscribers table, or in wordpress users.

You can however deactivate subscription for wordpress registered user, not vice versa tho :).

    Do you know what Carl,

since you’re my fav and you’ve written such a nice review, I’ve decided to add a form in admin that will allow you to add registered users in wordpress.

    Take care,
    Mart
