You’ll see the one we are working on is on a blue background. Prior to clicking “read more” it strips all formatting/sentences (and it’s the sentence breaks we want to be able to keep), but displays correctly when you view the entire testimonial.
Can you please send me a screenshot with your view’s settings and one with the content added and the excerpt?

Did you add the manual excerpt in the testimonial > under the Excerpt field ?
If you did not, please add the excerpt there including the html and it should keep it.
Just go to your dashboard > Testimonials > edit that testimonial in question > scroll down to Excerpt > and add it there > save.

Have added the excerpt and it displays as expected, but now the “read more” doesn’t expand to show the full testimonial (it’s the Michael James one we have altered on the page)
