Not really. Currently, voting is open to any visitor and only prevents repeat votes using a cookie, which actually allows people to potentially abuse it by clearing cookies or by opening a new incognito window.
I was willing to leave it open to that possibility because I don’t want to restrict voting to people with registered accounts since that would drastically limit the amount of engagement.
Besides all that, I think that the author of a reply should be able to vote on their own, just like how when you comment on Reddit, your score starts off at 1 (assuming the author would always vote up on their own).
I understand. I’m looking for a voting system just for logged in members as I’m running a competition where the winner is the one with the most unique votes. I’m sure I’ll find something. 🙂
That may be a feature I will add sometime in the future.
