Static Generation is still Running

    Hello,

    Static Generation is still Running and even if I try to cancel the job wp_archive_creation_job_cron it is still “Generating…”

    Here are last few rows from debug file:

    [2025-02-04 20:35:22] [class-ss-archive-creation-job.php:268] Cancelling job; job is not done
    [2025-02-04 20:35:22] [class-ss-archive-creation-job.php:279] The queue isn't empty; overwriting current task with a cancel task

    Also checked with webhosting technical support that custom CRON job ...wp-cron.php?doing_wp_cron is setup well.

    Debug mode is on and it says: Notice: Function _load_textdomain_just_in_time was called incorrectly. Translation loading for the simply-static domain was triggered too early.

    Any idea what else to try will be very much appreciated.

    Hey @idefixx,

    can you try it again with today’s release?

    This might help solve that as we now included object cache handling in the generation process (on generate and on cancellation of the export).

    Let me know how it goes!

    I tried the new version 3.2.6, but the problem is still there. Static archive generation still won’t cancel.

    Reactivating the Simply Static plugin and deleting the wp_archive_creation_job_cron cron job didn’t help.

    The live WP website is behind 401 authorization. I’ve entered the Basic Auth credentials and the “Enable Basic Auth” switch is ON. No caching plugins or Redis are active. The diagnostics area shows everything is okay.

    Hey @idefixx,

    you probably need to reset our DB table to reset the background processing.
    Go to Simply Static -> Settings -> Utilities and scroll down to “Reset”.

    Click on the Reset Database Table Button and then navigate to “Generate” again – the process should be stopped now, and you should be able to re-run the export

    Thanks @patrickposner! Resetting the database and plugin settings was the solution. Fast-view website generation is back on track.
