We have a Jetpack square tiled gallery on our homepage. Yesterday the first two images became larger compared to the rest. (we had not changed anything.) (They are all supposed to be the same size, squares, aligned in a neat grid.) Before today, they were all the same size, and aligned neatly.

    Settings:

    Link To:   Media File
    Columns:  5
    Random Order: [yes]
    Size: Full Size
    Type:  Square Tiles

I have tried changing and resetting the settings, but no help. I tried rolling back the plugin to version 15.4 from 15.5, but no help!

Any ideas of what may be causing this, and how I can either fix it or put some kind of workaround in place?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi @hommealone,

This usually happens when there’s a CSS conflict or a lazy-loading / image optimization script interfering with Jetpack’s tiled gallery layout. Since the issue appeared without you changing anything, it’s likely caused by a recent Jetpack update, theme update, or caching/minification plugin conflict.

Here are a few things you can try:

    1. Clear all caches
      • Clear your site cache, CDN cache (if any), and browser cache.
    2. Temporarily disable optimization plugins
      • If you’re using plugins like WP Rocket, Autoptimize, LiteSpeed Cache, etc., disable CSS/JS optimization and check if the layout fixes itself.
    3. Check theme CSS overrides
      • Inspect the affected images using browser dev tools to see if any custom CSS is forcing different image widths/heights.
    4. Regenerate thumbnails
      • Use a plugin like Regenerate Thumbnails and rebuild all image sizes.
    5. Test plugin conflicts
      • Temporarily deactivate other plugins to see if one of them is causing the layout break.

If you’re troubleshooting layout and plugin behavior issues, tools and resources like https://deltaexecuter.com/delta-executor-discord/ can also be helpful for finding fixes and community-based solutions.

    Hope this helps!

    Thanks @ayana12

Your troubleshooting suggestions helped me get it straightened out. (It was a plugin conflict.) Much appreciated!
