    Hi!

Thanks for the Theme Switcha. I do a test-project with multiple domains but with only one database (no multisite). In first instance the Theme Switcha solved my problem to setup a different theme by each domain (by each wordpress installation).

Is there a possibility to definitely fix a theme by Theme Switcha (by each wordpress installation/domain)?

Btw. I also have the problem that the plugin works fine as long as I logged in as Admin … If I log out the Theme switches again to the standard Theme.

    Many Thanks!
    Tom

    Glad to help:

    1) “Is there a possibility to definitely fix a theme by Theme Switcha (by each wordpress installation/domain)?”

Not at this time, but it’s definitely an interesting idea, thank you.

    2) “I also have the problem that the plugin works fine as long as I logged in as Admin … If I log out the Theme switches again to the standard Theme.”

Depending on your settings, that is how it should work. As explained in the plugin documentation, Theme Switcha provides the following configuration settings:

    • Admins only – useful for theme devs to work on themes on a live site
    • Passkey only – useful for sending clients preview links to new templates
    • Everyone – allow everyone to switch themes (required for shortcodes)

So in your case, it sounds like this setting is configured for “Admins only”, which means that you need to be logged in as admin-level user in order for the plugin to switch themes (i.e., if you log out the theme is no longer switched). If you need to log out and view the switched theme, try either “Passkey only” or “Everyone”, depending on your preferences.

    Hi Jeff,

    thanks for your fast answer!

    1) it would be great if you could upgrade Theme Switcha with this additional function (Theme for ever). I have done many tests and could only find a solution with Theme Switcha. This would be a big help for everyone who creates a network with multiple Domains (and Themes) and only one central Database.

Is it correct that if I set the “Cookie Expiration” to 520.000 the Plugin does not change the Theme for aprox. 1 Year?

If I do this, is this a solution for every browser, mobile devices, etc.?

Another Idea which could fit together: Site Name and Site Description (individual by Theme)

    2) Yes if have understood this now and it works fine. My english is not the best (my language is german) and I understood that “Everyone” (the Users) can switch the Theme. I think better would be “view Themes”?

    Many thanks!
