    Hi there, I’m setting up Akismet on a new site and wanted to understand one thing. Should I manually review spam comments often, or is it usually safe to let Akismet handle them automatically?

    When you’re getting started with Akismet it’s worth reviewing the spam folder every few days, it helps you build confidence in Akismet’s accuracy and catch the rare false positive. Most users find that after a couple of weeks, Akismet is extremely reliable and they can switch to occasional spot-checks. You can also enable the “Silently discard” option in Akismet’s settings once you’re comfortable, which auto-removes the most obvious spam.
