Is it possible to have a sorted list on a page by ‘event name’, for example:

A
a1event
a2event
a3 event

B
b1event
b2event
b3event

etc.

Each event may contain an internal or external link

yes, you can use shortcode like [events_list limit=10 scope=”future” order=”ASC” orderby=”event_name”]
