Hello people! In the few last months I’m having some problems with my site and I would like some orientation from you.

First thing is: once or thrice a month the 404 report shows some IP (never the same, generally Chinese, but not always) that tries to access hundreds of pages that don’t exist. Yes, hundreds, all in a very short time, my site gets flooded with it. I would like to know if there is a way to block automatically an IP that tries to access, let’s say, more than 10 or 20 pages in 2 seconds, or other ways to stop these diabolic IPs from flooding my site.

Second thing is that I have tried to block an IP range and the IP doesn’t show as blacklisted in the report. I put the first part of the IP address and an asterisk in the list of blacklisted IPs. Am I doing something wrong?

An update. I just entered in my site and all the blacklisted IPs disappeared. I don’t know what happened. Going there to try to stop the pings!

I hope you can help me, especially with the first problem.

    Best regards!

    Hi @arutha176,

    1. 404 to block IP is part of the AIOS premium feature, not Free. Unfortunately, WordPress.org rules do not allow us to use their forums to answer questions about paid software. You can raise a ticket on our website.
    2. If you add an IP to WP security > Firewall > Block and allow list, it will not appear in WP security > Dashboard > Permanent blocklist. both lists are different. If it is the IP added in blocked list it will show 403 forbidden and if the IP auto blocked some how it will be in permanent block list and will redirect user to 127.0.0.1
