• Hi team,

I’ve been using this plugin for quite some time and appreciate its simplicity and effectiveness.

However, on a large site with 25,000+ posts, I’m experiencing performance issues when the cache size grows significantly. Specifically:

    • The WordPress admin dashboard becomes very slow
    • Frontend page loads are noticeably slower when logged in

I found a related support thread and disabled WP-Optimize from the top admin toolbar. After doing this, page load performance improved significantly while logged in.

However, the per-post cache purge option in the toolbar was very useful for my workflow, and I’d prefer not to lose that functionality.

    Could you please suggest:

    • The root cause of this slowdown (large cache size, file count, or toolbar-related queries?)
    • Any recommended configuration changes or best practices for handling large cache sizes on high-post-count sites
    • A way to retain per-post cache clearing without impacting performance

Thanks in advance for your guidance!

    Hi,

When the toolbar is disabled I’m not currently seeing a way to purge the cache for a specific post but I’m going to keep checking.

I think the slowdown is caused by the cache stats that are calculated by the toolbar which can take some time when there are a large number of posts cached.

I’ll keep testing to see if I can find a way to purge the cache for a single post while the toolbar is disabled and will let you know what I find!
