Hi @reholmes27,
Can you tell me if your issue is somehow similar to this one we’re addressing? Just to understand if it’s a different issue altogether or it has something in common with this one.
Thanks!
Yes, it sounds similar, although I haven’t had an issue with the images all deleting aswell.
Hey @reholmes27,
Have you tried anyway to check the solution we offered in the other thread? We’d like to understand if they can help you on any capacity.
As far as I can tell you haven’t offered solutions to the problem of not skipping thumbnails. You’ve suggested things to look at in terms of trying to overcome the issue with reaching a certain point and crashing but that’s not the problem that I’d like resolved.
However, the main issue with reaching a certain point and stopping is that the site logs the user out after a certain amount of time and I get an error along the lines of user cookie invalid.
Hi, I have the same issue. Anyhow I stopped / reloaded the regeneration by myself, and I was surprised it started again from the beginning (so no crashing at certain point). I am looking at FTP to upload/ folder and I see files modification times changed to current timestamp / date. So files that has already been regenerated an hour ago are freshly regenerated again … so that “skip regenerating … ” checkbox does exactly nothing.
Hi there,
Upon talking with our developers, we lean over to not recommending alternative plugins generally speaking.
That said, since WP CLI is WordPress.org owned, we’d suggest it as an alternative while we look for possible solutions to these issues.
Please note that WP CLI is a doable option to explore if your host has given them command line access: https://developer.wordpress.org/cli/commands/media/regenerate/
👋 Just a quick note about a new plugin release: version 3.1.6 has just been released, including a fix that can help with this.
The same change also fixes an issue that removed all thumbnails when selecting the option “remove unused thumbnail sizes”.
Hope that helps!
