Sitemap index can be read, but has errors

    Hello,

    I hope you are well. I know that many people have made such threads in the past but I did not find the required solution. For a long time search console has returned this error for my sitemap but I have no idea how to fix it. Please tell me what to do step by step as I am not a very technical person. I hope this has not caused seo issues for my website as well.

    Here is the screenshot. It says the issue is on line 29 but I have no idea where this is or how to change this.

    Hello @hbk747

    Thanks for reaching out about your sitemap index. The culprit is the /guest-author-sitemap.xml/, as it’s missing a lastmod date. See screenshot.

    An empty or missing date on an individual sitemap typically indicates an invalid timestamp in your database. Adding, updating and removing a minor change will refresh the date.


    Pick one of the 685 URLs in the sitemap, edit it and save changes and the issue should be fixed.
