@wonderhindi
We’re sorry you’re having trouble with a sitemap. I imagine this can be frustrating for you. We’d like to look a closer look.
Yoast sitemaps are generated on the fly and they cannot be located physically on the server. Upon checking the sitemap on your website https://wonderhindi.com/sitemap_index.xml, we see it appears as expected. The error you receive on your sitemap can be caused by a number of issues, including the submitted URL or that the sitemap page is being redirected. We also have additional information on the error that your sitemap is not in the correct format and is an HTML file at the following link: https://yoast.com/help/why-is-google-saying-my-xml-video-sitemap-is-an-html-file/
Can you please try the aforementioned recommendation and let us know whether this resolves your issue?
Submitted url is correct and according to my understanding i found no redirection issues.

We suggest the following actions:
1. Clear all your caching from your theme, plugin, server, CDN like CloudFlare or browser. If you are not sure how to clear caching from theme/plugin please speak to those authors. If you want to clear cache from the server, please speak to your host provider. To clear the cache from a browser use this guide: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/how-to-clear-my-browsers-cache/.
2. Delete your sitemap in Google. Doing so will not hurt the SEO of the site. This guide explains more (scroll to the bottom): https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/183669?hl=en.
3. Submit the sitemap again. Be sure to submit only sitemap_index.xml and nothing else. This guide explains more: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/submit-sitemap-search-engines/.
4. Monitor the results to see if the issue is resolved. It can take some time before Google can report on the crawled URLs after you re-submit your sitemap.
Let us know if you have any additional questions; we’re happy to help.`
Yesterday, I disallowed yoast sitemap and i replace ” sitemap_index.xml” with ”wp-sitemap.xml”in google search console, and it was successfully done.
It is working well for now but my question is
(1) is it good for long term?
(2) is it dynamic as yoast claim it is?
Because when i was doing off yoast sitemap, i saw a notification with something like warning to not use wp-sitemap.xml.
Your views on this…………….!
@wonderhindi Thanks for our reply. We’ve addressed each of your concerns individually below:
(1) is it good for long term?
The current WordPress XML sitemap is very basic, while the XML sitemaps in Yoast SEO have been fully featured for many years. The current version of the XML sitemap in WordPress only supports only a limited number of content types. If possible, we would advise using the sitemap generated by Yoast SEO.
(2) is it dynamic as yoast claim it is?
The built in sitemap feature that is built into WordPress as of version 5.5 is capable of creating a sitemap index that can hold a maximum of 50000 sitemaps, and a single sitemap can hold a maximum of 2000 entries. By default, sitemaps are created for all public and publicly queryable post types and taxonomies, as well as for author archives and of course the homepage of the site.
You can read more about the the sitemap feature built into WordPress in the documentation here.
We are going ahead and marking this issue as resolved due to inactivity. If you require any further assistance please create a new issue.
