I just updated my theme (Spacious), and now the shortcode is no longer working in the widget area. Any ideas?

My guess is you had modified your theme previously to support shortcodes in widgets.

Instead of modifying the theme, install this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/shortcodes-in-sidebar-widgets/
