Hi,
I’m facing the same issue. Maps that I uploaded with previous versions of WP GPX Maps work fine. But I cannot use shortcodes of the maps that I uploaded with the lastest version. It gives an error when trying to save the shortcode on a new page. I can save the shortcode on existing pages, but then the page hangs on the website.
The map itself is not the problem. I uploaded an exact copy of a map that works well with a previous version.

Hi,
The plugin WP GPX Maps is working again on my website, after downgrading from PHP version 8 to version 7.4.
@msebald: could you check if this fix works for you as well?
Regards, Jeroen
@psiteco Hey Jeroen, that is strange. I am running my site on PHP 7.4. Regards, Martin
PS: Sorry. I have uploaded the GPX files via FTP, so these files were not modified by the addon. What older versions still work fine with the shortcodes? I might downgrade then until the problem is fixed for the current version.
Hi, I uploaded 2 GPX files today and both are not working.
I can only see the short codes in plain text.
I’m on PHP 7.4
FIXED!
I changed:
[sgpx gpx="/wp-content/uploads/gpx/DAY02.gpx"]
to:
[sgpx gpx="/wp-content/uploads/gpx/DAY02.gpx" showspeed="false" showele="false" summary="false" summarytotlen="false" summarymaxele="false" summaryminele="false" summaryeleup="false" summaryeledown="false"]
The plugin is fabulous. Just don’t just say that copy/pasting [sgpx gpx="/wp-content/uploads/gpx/DAY02.gpx"]
will solve the problem because you need to add a lot of attributes in order to make it work.
You will avoid negative feedbacks.
Nice work
