There are limits to the number of images that can be uploaded due to the limitations of browser memory. There are alternative ways to uploading images such as using FTP to upload new folders and images. After uploading by this method, first, refresh folders from the Library tab by clicking on the Refresh Folders icon. Then use either the sync feature to add new media files or the best way is to go to the Maintenance tab where after refreshing folders, you can scan the contents of the media library and select the files to be added to the library without the limitations of dragging and dropping files via the browser.

Actually the Maintenance is a pro feature, so with the free version, you can only use the sync feature.
