setting server cron

I want to set up a server cron for 10 imports, each running once a week. Do I also need to create a separate cron for processing for each of them running every 1–5 minutes (meaning the main import runs weekly, but the processing runs frequently to make sure import works)? Is there a cleaner or more efficient way to achieve this?
