• Hi! I have a few questions around variable products and options in the wishlist table:

1 – In selecting the columns to appear from the Table Settings, there isn’t anything other than “Size” for variable products. I renamed this to “Option” for the wishlist table, but realized it’s only pulling variations with size options – we have a few products that have a scent variation. Is there a way to include other attributes than size to display?

2 – When clicking the “Select Options” button on a variable product in the wishlist table, the only option is “Add to Cart” from the variations form/dropdown. Is it possible to have a “save” button for the selected option (be it a size or scent option) and the customer’s wishlist table update (and save) their selection? In other words, they choose a size/scent, but aren’t ready to add to cart, and have the wishlist display their selections (and corresponding price) for any variable products. Currently, the only options are to add to cart or close the options form.

3 – Once the selection is made, can the table update Size column to show only the specific size/scent the customer selected (instead of all size options available)?

4 – And…once selections are made, can the Select Options button become an “Add To Cart” button (with a “Change Options” button available?

Lastly, I’m having an issue with the wishlist updating when a product is added. The product is added and the notification appears that it’s been added to the wishlist, but when you go to the wishlist, it isn’t there. You have to manually refresh the page for the added items to appear. This also isn’t updating the wishlist counter in real time, nor the Add To Wishlist button (where it shows that the item is already in wishlist). When the button isn’t updated to show the product is already in wishlist, an error notification appears and the item doesn’t reflect that it’s been added.

    Hopefully this makes sense!

    Thanks in advance,

    Nanette

    Hi @nanetteg,

Thank you for your detailed questions and for taking the time to share your experience!

1 – Displaying Attributes Other Than “Size”

We’ve tested this functionality and didn’t encounter the issue — attributes like “Scent” should be handled the same way as “Size.” If the wishlist table is only showing “Size,” it may be due to caching. We recommend clearing your site cache (including plugin and server-level cache) as well as your browser cache. Once cleared, try checking again — this usually resolves display issues like this.

    2, 3 & 4 – Saving and Displaying Selected Variations

At the moment, the wishlist table does not support saving a selected variation (like a specific size or scent) unless the product is added to the cart. However, we completely understand the importance of this feature for a better user experience.

We’re planning to introduce a feature where:
When a user selects a variation on the product page and adds the item to their wishlist,
That specific variation will be saved and displayed in the wishlist table,
The variation column (e.g., Size/Scent) will then reflect the selected value only,
The “Select Options” button will be replaced by an “Add to Cart” button if a variation has been selected.
This will make it easier for customers to manage their wishlists without needing to reselect variations each time.

    Wishlist Not Updating Instantly

We’ve also tested the behavior of the wishlist when a product is added, and it appears to be working correctly on our end — including the real-time update of the wishlist counter and button states.

This kind of issue is commonly caused by aggressive caching or JavaScript conflicts with themes or third-party plugins. If you haven’t already, please try:
Clearing all site and browser caches,
Disabling any performance optimization plugins temporarily,
Testing with a default theme (like Twenty Twenty-Four) and only our plugin enabled to isolate the cause.
If the issue persists after testing these steps, feel free to share more details and we’ll be happy to look further into it.

We appreciate your input — it’s feedback like this that helps us improve!

    Best regards,
    Support Team
