Same here.
Works in Chrome, Edge and Opera. Not in Firefox.
Same here. Started happening after the 5.6 update.
Same here using Twenty Twelve theme and Firefox. Worked fine previously and still does on sites I haven’t yet upgraded.
Update: I’ve installed “Enable jQuery Migrate Helper” plugin and it’s working again for me. May explain why 5.6 broke it in Firefox to someone techier than me.
same.Firefox.
Is there a solution?
Maybe some CSS?

Hi,
Same issue here:
– WordPress 5.6
– Firefox 83.0 (64 bits)
Hoping for a quick fix on that.
Thx.
temporary solution
install:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/enable-jquery-migrate-helper/
In Settings – Enable Legacy jQuery Version
Classical Editor – works as before
Doesn’t work with every theme!
Yes, the above work-around is working on Firefox 83, but we would like to see a fix on the plugin core.
the jQuery migrate helper should become a permanent fix. its sorting all kinds of problems. not everyone of us knows how to deal with these issues.
I was referring to the plugin author. This should be a simple permanent fix.
Yes, can reproduce it in Firefox, somewhat inconsistently…
As far as I see the problem is with the
Enable full-height editor and distraction-free functionality
checkbox in Screen Options turning off by itself after couple of page reloads. This also controls making the toolbar “sticky”.
Strangely the checkbox remains checked, but the setting if off. Could you try clicking it couple of times and see if that fixes the toolbar?
Strictly speaking this is a bug in WP, not in this plugin. Will fix it there.

Hi Andrew,
if I deactivated the checkbox “Enable full-height editor and distraction-free functionality” in Screen Options, the toolbox is sticky.
for me, if I deactivate the checkbox “Enable full-height editor and distraction-free functionality” in Screen Options, the toolbox is NOT sticky.
