    I originally used the “Disable Comments” plugin. However, when it started spamming the WordPress dashboard with its notifications requesting to track data, I switched to “Disable Comments RB”, which was a huge improvement.

    A little while back, “Disable Comments RB” added advertisements to their settings page. I continued to use it because most of my clients will never see that page, and I never visit it after setting up the plugin. However, now this plugin places a brightly colored icon in the main WordPress menu.

    Why does a plugin with a total of one option (and an option you will likely never change) need a top-level menu item? And why brightly colored, so it stands out like a sore thumb?

    …unless it is there to get people to click on it so they can see the ads on the settings page.

    Thank you for your opinion! We’re really sorry for any inconvenience.

    Actually, this menu item was added by numerous requests of other users. It was not very comfortable to find the options. Also, we started the development of other plugins, most of those plugins will be absolutely free as disable comments. Based on your feedback we decided to add an option to the general plugin settings where you’ll be able to disable this menu item in the admin section if this is so critical issue.

    Exact same position for me. Changed from that same plugin to this for the same reason, which is why it’s very frustrating to now see this plugin go down the same path. There are many far more complicated plugins that exist under Settings just fine. All this is doing is adding unnecessary bloat to the menus, which I try to avoid as much as possible.

    @rbplugins Let me know when the new version comes out that allows users to have the option of putting the menu item back in the Settings submenu. I’ll be happy to update my review.
