I was able to make a test with the textarea field on my lab environment but I wasn’t able to replicate the issue. I also installed the Advanced Tool Editor plugin however, the text area field looked fine. The Forminator textarea field by default has an option to enable/disable TinyMCE (ref: https://monosnap.com/file/RnpRlpCqw5VEfAUf76Pd1EnW5J9Pl0), so a plugin like Advanced Tool Editor should not be required ideally unless you want to specifically use a functionality that it provides over the default TinyMCE editor. That said, what you are noticing could indeed be some kind of plugin or theme conflict. In this case, I would recommend you perform a full conflict test – that is to setup a staging or Dev environment and on that environment disable all plugins except Forminator and switch to a WordPress Default theme like 2025 and see if the issue is resolved.
If yes, then you will need to enable each plugin at a time until you replicate the issue, if the issue still doesn’t occur, you can switch to the current theme you are using to see if the issue is replicated.
This way, you will be able to further narrow down what could be causing the issue.
Please note, since the test involves enabling/disabling plugins and themes which will disturb how the site will look on the frontend – So it will be better to perform this test on a staging/dev environment. In case you choose to do this on a live site, please make sure to perform a full backup of the live site as a safety checkpoint and an easy revert point if needed.
