    HAAALP!
OK, I am an utter idiot that is not quite awake. I have managed to delete the wrong database and managed to delete my whole website (!!)

Jeeez, I feel like I left my mother in charge of the tech :/

On the plus side I have updraft back-ups of the db and files etc, but I can’t get into the wordpress admin dashboard to reinstate these, and can’t work out how/where to upload these to.

PS. I am hosted on IONOS, and I still have access to that dashboard, and the database management menu (from where I did the fat-fingered stupid deed) but can’t see any restore options

The UpdraftPlus backup files are recent (today) and of the full website, so there’s one .gz folder of the db, and 25 others of all the uploads, themes, plugins, etc.

    Thank you!

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hello,

If you have deleted only the database (and assuming the file is not encrypted) then you can open up phpMyAdmin on your hosting panel and import the database file (change the file extension to db.sql.gz first).

If you have deleted the entire website including the files you would need to reinstall WordPress and UpdraftPlus.

You can then either drop the backup components into the wp-content / updraft folder and click rescan local folder for new backup sets on the Existing backups tab or you can use the Upload backup files widget also on the Existing backups tab. You can then restore everything.
