What do you mean by “it did not change the original image”? Could you please explain exactly what you see and what you expect to see?

Here there are two things you need to take into account:

1. You will not see the WebP format on the backend. The WebP format is only displayed to your visitors.

Your screenshot (JPG, 34 KB) shows the optimized JPG, not the original. You can also see that its size was reduced by 41.83% and that two WebP images were created, corresponding to one or more of the thumbnails and/or the full-size image. As for the question “Why weren’t more WebP images created?”, the answer is that sometimes the WebP file is intentionally not generated.
