It includes the core of Smart Fields, or at least a part of it since it’s rewritten in most parts.
Still, although there is additional functionality planned, what you get with this plugin contains only a part of what Smart Fields included. The rest is planned for a future, premium version that is not yet released.
Do you have a time-table?
I absolutely love Smart-Fields, but it’s very buggy and hard to find things so that I can fix it.
Currently I’m quite busy and I’m not sure when I will be ready with the premium version.
Still, if the free one is sufficient for you, it tends to be quite bug-free. Even if (it sure does) has bugs, I’ll be fixing them very quickly. One of the reasons for forking Smart Fields into two parts was for me to be able to get at least the base (the free plugin) to a very stable state.
Have you been able to check this one?
I installed it on a dev site and unfortunately, I use a number of features that will be in your premium version (and are currently in Smart-Fields).
The ability to add meta-boxes to taxonomies, especially.
Your concept here (even with the bugs in Smart-Fields) is outstanding and the best implementation I’ve seen so far (and I’ve tried EVERYTHING I could find). I personally think this is a “break-out” product that could use to make a living once the premium version is released as long as you stay on top of the bugs.
I know you’re busy, but I hope this project is HIGH on your priority list because I know that I desperately need it.
