    Hi!

We have a payment option that is “Rental” for 2 days, and of course, WITHOUT auto renewal as default.

Now, when a user signs up on our site, and select this “Rental” option, the PayPal page requires the user to create an account. We DON’T want that, the user MUST be able to PAY WITH CREDIT CARD ! They should not be asked to create a PayPal account. We have lost many users because of this.

On our other rental options where we have monthly AND auto renewal, the user can directly pay with either PayPal or CreditCard.

This must have changed recently, please resolve this asap or tell us a workaround. This is costing us money! Because if a user don’t have PayPal and they see this button that they MUST create an account there and not are able to pay with their credit cards, they may not rent!

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @zzraz,

You have two options for enabling credit card payments for your users:

    1. Integrate Stripe Connect: This will allow you to accept credit card payments directly on your site. You can find the documentation here: Stripe Connect Integration.
    2. Enable PayPal Guest Checkout: This option allows users to pay with a credit card through PayPal without needing a PayPal account. For details, see the documentation here: PayPal Guest Checkout.

NOTE: We are unable to remove the requirement for creating a PayPal account, as this is dictated by PayPal’s policies. However, by enabling the Guest Checkout functionality, you can give your customers the option to pay with PayPal without needing to create an account.

Hi. Thank you for your answer! I don’t think you read my message clearly. We have all those settings you recommend already. The problems is this, and please read carefully:

    When using the combination:

We are renting out movies for 24 hours or 48 hours. Then we cannot have the option “Renew automatically” for obvious reasons! Therefore, we have the setting “Never renew automatically” in PMS. Now, THIS COMBINATION shows a button “Create an account” as mandatory on PayPal. We do not want to require this from our viewers. They should be taken to “Use PayPal or CreditCard” directly.

Something has changed, it used to work perfectly before. Something has changed either in your PMS Plugin or at PayPal. But we have checked our settings in PayPal, and they are correct as you suggested as well.

So how can we offer the “Never renew..” to our users without being forced to create an account at PayPal?

    Thank you.

    Hi @zzraz,

We do not have control over the requirement to create an account with PayPal. If you have the Guest Checkout option enabled in your PayPal account but your customers no longer see the option to pay without creating an account, you should contact the PayPal support team to inquire about this situation.

PayPal Guest Checkout is available on a case-by-case basis. Various factors, such as the buyer’s country, IP address, repeated payment attempts, and testing payments to one’s own account in the live environment, are used to determine guest eligibility. When a checkout is not guest-eligible, the buyer can still enter their card details but will need to choose a password to create an account during the process. So please ask PayPal support team why your members are no longer able to pay without creating an account.
