• Installed the Astra theme today and this Spectra Gutenberg Blocks was installed with that. I am surprised to see that they installed v3-beta and most of the blocks are missing, which includes the post grid and other related blocks. They are only offering some block which are already available under default WordPress Gutenberg.

If it would be pushed as the stable release it would be a major betrayal to the existing users.

    Hi @nasir8891,

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We completely understand the concern, and we want to clear things up.

This was not a silent change. We announced Spectra v3 publicly back in November 2025 with a dedicated announcement post. You can read the full details here: https://wpspectra.com/announcements/spectra-v3-beta/

Regarding the missing blocks, such as the Post Grid and other post related blocks, these are not gone permanently. They are being replaced with a more modern and powerful Post block that will include all the features available in the current blocks and more. We are actively working on this, and it will be available in an upcoming release.

As for Spectra v3 only offering blocks that are already available in the default WordPress Gutenberg, that is not accurate. All Spectra v3 blocks are significantly more powerful than their Gutenberg counterparts and include all the features that were present in the earlier versions. We are also continuously working to add more improvements.

Most importantly, this will never be forced on any existing or new user. Spectra v2 is not going anywhere. It will continue to be fully supported, and anyone who prefers to stay on v2 is completely free to do so. Spectra v3 will always be optional.

We have also removed the beta update feature to prevent unintended upgrades. If you were updated to v3 beta and would like to roll back, you can easily revert to Spectra v2.19.28 directly from your WordPress dashboard. Here is how: https://wpspectra.com/docs/rollback-spectra-version/

We genuinely care about our users and would never make a change that disrupts existing workflows without giving everyone a clear choice. We hope this clears things up, and please feel free to reach out if you have any other questions.

    Have a nice day ahead!

I recently installed the Astra theme, and Spectra Gutenberg Blocks was installed along with it. While I know the team announced plans to release v3, this v3-beta version was installed on my site completely without notice.

Version 3 and Version 2 are not the same. This new v3 beta only includes a handful of blocks, and critical blocks like the Post Grid are completely gone. Pushing an incomplete, unannounced beta version onto users without any warning, explanation of differences, or a clear changelog is a terrible user experience. It breaks existing functionality and ruins stable workflows.

If you are going to release features that require a paid subscription, that is fine. But forcing users away from stable, free tools to nudge them toward paid upgrades is something I cannot appreciate. You might be a great developer technically, but this is a bad way to treat your users.

    Hi @nasir8891,

Thank you for the honest feedback. We want to address your concerns with full transparency.

You are right that v3 and v2 are not the same, and that is intentional. Spectra v2 was a great product, but it was built on older code that had real limitations. Blocks like the Info Box relied on multiple extra wrapper divs and were not truly composable. Spectra v3 is a full rebuild on the latest WordPress and Gutenberg standards, which means cleaner HTML, a smaller DOM size, better core compatibility, and improved site speed.

We included v3 beta with new Astra installations because we use it on our own websites, including wpspectra.com and wpastra.com. When someone starts a brand new site today, we want them on the best foundation available. That said, we hear your feedback clearly, and Spectra v3 will be fully optional going forward. We have already removed the beta update path to prevent unintended upgrades.

Spectra v3 is for users who want clean output and the latest WordPress standards. Spectra v2 is for users who prefer the prebuilt block approach and want to continue as they always have. Both will be supported.

If you would like to roll back to Spectra v2.19.28, you can do so directly from your WordPress dashboard:
    https://wpspectra.com/docs/rollback-spectra-version/

We understand that an unexpected change is a poor experience regardless of intent, and we are taking that seriously. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

    Have a great day ahead!
