Removed Administrator Rights – Cannot Edit Users

    Hi!

    I was editing the Administrator role using Capability Manager Enhanced – I thought I was editing a copy of this role, and removed access to editing the themes, users, plugin etc. So all that user can do it publish posts and upload photos. I hit save, and then noticed I couldn’t access the users.

    Now I have the administrator role, but the administrator role cannot do anything I want to do. Is there a way to revert the administrator role to the original setting – I cannot access this plugin anymore as I cannot edit users at all.

    As long as your user is still an Administrator and you did not deactivate the plugin, the manage_capabilities capability will be automatically reinstated. Just hit the Users or Permissions menu link twice. You can go back into the Edit Capabilities screen and restore the lost capabilities.

    Hi Kevin,

    I cannot access the users or permissions menu – as this was one of the capabilities I removed. I tried to fix the issue and it didn’t work so I deactivated the plugin (as I gave myself the ability to add/deactivate/remove plugins). If I reactivate the plugin is there a way to fix the issue?

    If you install and activate the Press Permit Core plugin, you should be able to access CME’s Roles and Capabilities screen through Permissions > Role Capabilities.

    You will also need to reactivate CME.

    I seem to be unable to add plugins as well. Is there another way around this?
