Redirect loop with xLanguage

Using the xLanguage plugin gives a redirect error depending on the www or non-www domain.

If General->Settings is set to http://www.blog.tld then visiting blog.tld returns an redirect loop error. Changing General->settings to remove the www, rebuild permalinks, and visit non-www domain now works, but www domain gets the redirect error.

I suspect it’s something to do with changes to canonical name processing.

Anyone else suffering or know the solution ?

The plugin home page for xlanguage seems to have disappeared and possibly support.
