Reagrding Aplication passwords or automatic ordering

Hello, i’ve been using WooCommerce on several websites for a while without any significant problems.
Albeit on the last project i’m working on, with the most recent WP & WooCommerce installations, some to me unexplained event happened with what i would say – bot system ordering.
The item/product was ordered in the quantities of 2, while for that specific product i’ve set an option to sold separately and stock of 1, having that, should allow only 1 item for ordering, plus my shops cart is having add-on that removes quantities updates/changing on the cart and check out, yet that order was passed/placed with a quantity of 2. Next, the order was placed with only address data, while buyers name was not entered or collected via check out form, and email was the shop’s email. Also the order was completed over some of 2 payment gateways meaning that payment should be recorded and processed at their end, verified as payed, while in the shop’s WooCommerce orders list for it there is order status changed from Processing to Complete payment but with tha amount of 0.
After that event, i’ve installed WP plugin disable Application Passwords, as it seemed that was – bot, possible, that played out almost entire ordering procedures. To add Rest API was already disabled and no applications password set in the WooCommerce settings at the time of automatic ordering event.
Would you support or advice?

Before we can go forward with anything. Could you please share a copy of your site’s System Status?

You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”. Once you’ve done that, paste it here in your response.

This will give us a better understanding of your site. 🙂

As a general recommendation be sure to update your WooCommerce version as explained in this documentation:

Based on your description, if you would like your site to work properly you can use some extensions that might help you out to prevent that type of orders:

– reCaptcha for WooCommerce.
– WooCommerce Anti-Fraud.

If I understand this correctly, you have a plugin that’s managing the orders somehow. If so, then contacting the plugin author is the best course of action you can do.

I am very sorry for the issue. Actually, we are using WooCommerce custom product for the campaign. Order, Payment, and other things are completely managed by WooCommerce, and the payment systems are managed by Payment Gateway also. So WooCommerce and your website Payment Gateway company can help you to fix the issue.

Hello, to update as the problem orders repeated every day since posted, with possible indicative 1 entry, and the mentioned plugin author of WP Crowdfunding has advice to return here for support.
Could it be automatic orders fulfillment, from the saved cart feature, and does it work from the Woocommerce install or it could be add-on from the plugins?

I’m not quite sure what you mean by this – do you mean automatically completing orders, or something else? If you mean the auto-completion, this is not default WooCommerce behavior. We do have a tutorial for adding it here:

Do you have any custom code added via a plugin like Code Snippets, or to your functions.php file?

This is also not default to WooCommerce.

I don’t see a plugin in your SSR that might be doing this, although I’m not familiar with all of them. This one looks like a possibility:

It’s also possible this could be a code customization, as noted above for the automatic orders fulfillment.

To go back a bit here, you initially reported:

This is not how WooCommerce behaves out of the box, either. It’s not possible to ‘sell separately’; see, for example, this addon sold on WooCommerce.com:

So this is definitely not an issue with WooCommerce but with whichever plugin is allowing the separate selling.

You mention running other sites with WooCommerce. Are any of those running with the particular combination seen above?

Thank you for advising, shortly after your elaboration, i’ve went in the admin through settings of all active plugins and also checked in active theme functions, and haven’t found anything there regarding saving cart or auto-completing orders, yet that is exactly what is happening.
Going to follow-up here if i found the culprit in the next few days, for the further reference.
