Queued for Processing (Pinterest)
-
Hey,
My feed for Pinterest has been queued for a couple of days with no movement and so I reached out to Pinterest for an explanation.
This is what they said:
While checking your feed, I noticed that the xml version is not listed on the top of your feed.
As a first step, please add the xml version at the very top, like this:

How do solve this issue?
The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Hi aie92,
Thanks for using our plugin and reaching out to us.
Just to be sure, do you intend to create a feed for advertising in Pinterest or do you intend to create a Pinterest feed for your Board?
When you intended to create a feed to advertise in Pinterest your feed really is fine, it is proper XML and used by thousands of our users who advertise in Pinterest.
When you intended to create a feed for your Pinterest Board you needed to select the “Pinterest RSS Board” channel upon feed configuration.
We are confident that both XML feeds have the proper XML headers.
All the best,
EvaHi Eva,
thanks for your reply.
This is the link I am using: https://www.pinterest.co.uk/product-catalogs/data-source
To get there I clicked on to Ads and then scrolled down to Catalogs. So this would make me assume I am trying to advertise?
Hi,
Yes thats the advertising feed. Pinterest is using Google’s Shopping Feed requirements for their Pinterest feeds so they are (technically) identical.
I checked the source and our plugin code, the Google and Pinterest feeds both start with this XML heeader:

So I suggest reaching out to Pinterest support again stating the header is correct and that its not the cause of the issue.
Best,
EvaHi Eva,
The top line of my RSS feed is:

This is the same function as your code?:

Hi,
Most likely you are checking the feed in your browser. The browser won’t show you the part.
When you download the feed and open it in an editor or using vim on your server directly you will see this:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/xrhfv2a9f47uno7/XML-header.png?dl=0All the best,
EvaOkay, I see what you mean from your screenshot. When I download the feed it opens up in my browser. Would this be because my site is hosted on wordpress? Is there anyway I can download the feed without it opening in my browser?
Actually, I’ve solved it… I think.
Thats great news 🙂 Let me know if it really is solved or not.
Best
EvaLol, nearly there I think…
I’ve managed to download it in the correct format, but the file URL location is my computers C Drive. How do I change the URL to open it? To clarify, the URL starts with the following:
C:\Users\******
Is the above the correct data source?
I can’t tell if that is the correct path as you put in asterixes.

When I click this URL:
it says the below.
“This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below.”
However, when I click ‘save as’ on the file and download it, it now has this:
“”.
Pinterest said the missing was the reason for it not working.
When I download that file, the URL path now turns to the below:
C:\Users\ashley\Downloads\Product feed (1) (1).xml.This new URL path is now different.
Trust me, your feed is fine. It has the XML header. Pinterest support seems to be wrong.

Ok, no problem! I’ll come back to them on this. Thanks for your help, I know I’ve been difficult.
