Pull in revised excerpt

I published a post, and then went back in and revised the excerpt, but the revisions are not getting pulled into the LinkedIn and Facebook share pop-ups. It’s still pulling in the first version of the excerpt. I even tried changing the post to draft, and then publishing again, hoping that would pull in the new excerpt, but it didn’t. Any suggestions to get that updated excerpt to pull in to those pieces?
