If you set the post to Private, it will not show up for unprivileged users (you will still be able to see it inserted if you are logged in to an admin account).
If that’s not enough, we can try adding a new plugin option that lets you choose between the behaviors (default: draft, review, and trashed posts can be inserted; restricted: only published posts can be inserted). Let us know!
ah, there we go!
“Private”-Option will do it for me.
A plugin-option, right like you described, would have helped me immediately, bc in the decription you could mention the behavoiur of Private. This could be helpful for many others.
My suggestion, if it is implemented:
default: draft, review, and trashed posts are inserted/displayed, private-status for toggle
restricted: only published posts can be inserted/displayed
Thank You!!
Aloha, version 3.11.0 has been released with this change. Note that we decided to change the default behavior to what you want, since it is more secure. People wanting to insert unpublished content will need to explicitly set which post statuses to allow on the plugin options page. For example: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/allow-inserting-private-pages-visible-to-all/
Thanks for reporting this issue, and let us know if you have any problems!
