    Good evening!

We are developing a solution for optics with WordPress + WooCommerce (WPC).

The “contact lens” product has the following combinations:

    Grade – 50 variations
    Curve – 20 variations
    Color – 10 variations
    Axis – 4 variations

In this example, we have the registration of only one product with (50 x 20 x 10 x 4) = 40,000 possible combinations for the user to choose.

Therefore, we have the following scenario:
    1. Process to register only 1 product is very time consuming, due to variations.
2.During site testing, every time we choose this product, the screen load is very slow, and error 504 occurs

We believe there are other optics solutions that use WooCommerce.

What is the best solution adopted to meet this need?

    Appreciate,

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • I don’t think that’s suitable for a variable product.

Have you checked out product add-on / product option plugins. These will allow you to set up a simple product with, in your case, four dropdowns for the attributes.

The customer’s selections are carried through cart, checkout, order and emails.

These types of plugins don’t allow for stock control, SKUs or individual images for the individual variations, but that may not be an issue for contact lenses.

This type of requirement is not uncommon and there are a few such plugins at wordpress.org/plugins and there are commercial ones.

    Hi @2btechadm

    Thanks for sharing your requirements.

Due to the number of variations and options available to customers, this may impact page performance.

We do have an extension available on WooCommerce.com which may work better here.

Composite Products will allow you to configure a product as if it were a kit, which may work well with the number of possible variations you have.

If you would like to test this out, WooCommerce.com does have a full 30 day refund policy.

If you want to try our products, please note we have a 30-day refund policy.

If the extension doesn’t work the way you need or you think another product would work better, we are more than happy to offer a full refund.

You can read more about our refund policy on our website here:

Feel free to let us know if you have any further questions.
