Problems with deleting staging site

I’m having a problem deleting the staging data from the database after following the Wp Staging delete procedure (which worked just fine on another website I’ve used the plugin on). All the wpstg0_ tables were ticked before starting the delete procedure, but the delete procedure hangs with the “REMOVING” message displayed.

However, I’m a bit nervous about following this procedure, given my limited understanding of phpMyAdmin. I assume the SQL query needs to be entered exactly as in the SQL query snippet presented, without any substitutions.

In the article it is stated that “In the future, WP Staging will be able to clean up those unused tables automatically but for now, this little extra work is needed.” How far are you away from releasing a version with this functionality? If it’s imminent I may just leave things for now.
