Problem with logged in HTML

The plugin works fine, the log in works fine. If you want me to unprotect the page, lmk. In wordpress I have the following code, but any HTML is ignored, what did I do wrong? For what it is worth the forum didn’t explain it, nor did documentation. TIA

I also tried <p> </p> tags and that did not work either, the display is smushed text, no spaces, no line breaks.
