Problem with Child Theme and menu

    I have created and setup a child theme for WP 3.9.2 using Max Flat Core, but the menu stays expanded once I switch to the Child Theme.

    When I switch back to the parent Max Flat Core Theme, the menu is fine again.

    What could be the cause of this?
    And more importantly, how do I fix it?

    I used plug-in “one-click child theme” plugin to create mine and it works fine. T
