    It seems some of your installed plugins or theme’s script breaking this functionality. If you are working on local server, I would recommend you to disable all the plugins one by one and activate any WP default Twenty theme and then check again.

    This activity is jus to locate the issue.

    Alternately, if you can install plugins, install Health Check. On the troubleshooting tab, you can click the button to disable all plugins and change the theme for you, while you’re still logged in, without affecting normal visitors to your site.
