Pre-Purchase Question

Working on local dev custom site and bouncing between buy of your code/plugin and coding my own slide-in menu. I see yours is open-source: Can I get under the hood, thus, and make some tweaks? Or is fork the pref?

Also wondering if I’ll be able to get at the code to be able to display a transparent gray screen over the top of all main content when left nav slides right over that main content? Or is that a selectable feature of the paid version?
