post grid category not working in WP 5.5

I see the plugin is not tested with WP 5.5. One issue I found is that the post grid doesn’t filter by one category anymore. It keeps getting reset to ALL.

The post grid blocks I had in place previous to upgrading to WP 5.5 are continuing to work with the category filter.

@mindctrl Same thing here. My site has completely jumbled itself without category sorting of posts. Also no dropdown to choose categories anymore. Please fix/help!THANKS!!

Same story here. When I update categories it just returns to “all”.

I rolled back the site I had the issue with to a backup that was pre-WP 5.5 so I can’t test this plugin on the post grid block but it’s supposed to help fix issues with plugins that aren’t working with WP 5.5 until the developers can update the plugins.

Seems this issue would be a candidate for this to help since the category drop down is the problem. Maybe a jquery issue?

Just to tag on to what @kathycac said regarding the Enable jQuery Migrate Helper plugin. I added this to my site and it’s made no difference – when I try to select a specific category to display in the post grid, it just reverts to “All”.

Hi all,

This looks like a bug introduced in WP 5.5, where they removed a function we rely on to save the category. The bug is captured in the Gutenberg repo here: https://github.com/WordPress/gutenberg/pull/24516

We’re looking into alternatives while we wait.

Howdy, folks. I just tested the 5.5.1 release candidate posted here and it fixes the issue. If all goes well with the RC, we should see 5.5.1 released on Tuesday.

WordPress 5.5.1 is out now with a fix for this issue.
