    I’ve been running a website with a Popular Posts (grid) widget which was working great until this morning’s update, as it has now disappeared.

    I was using the grid as a ‘trending posts’ option, so that website viewers could see at a glance which pages and posts were being last viewed

    I’m NOT using the block editor as I hate gutenberg with a passion.

    Which leaves the shortcode option.

    The ‘wpp Shortcode’ that is supposed to be the same as my old grid widget DOES work, but after throwing it on as a replacement, it looks horrible, and is better to remove the grid widget than to leave it on there.

    Sorry, but it looks like WordPress Popular Posts has now outlived it’s usefulness.

    About WP forum rules, can others also jump in with a ‘me too’ post? But yes, the widget in my side bars has also gone, just a very little red line, like it’s trying to load something. I had this in the past but cache flushing solved it. Now I’ve tried everything, but with no joy.

    Bear in mind there has also been a WP core update, so I have to wonder if that maybe also has something to do with it.

    Hey all,

    @deeveearr the widget has been deprecated for over a year at this point, as you may remember. That’s plenty of time to switch to either the WordPress Popular Posts block or the shortcode and make adjustments where / if needed.

    It’s alright if you decide that the plugin isn’t for you anymore. I will still be here if you ever decide to use it again and need assistance with it.

    @sean-h it’s OK to “me too” as long as you’re having the exact same issue as the OP, and from what you said that doesn’t seem to be the case. Please open a new topic, share your site’s URL and explain in detail what the problem is so I can help.

    Where can I download the old version that still has the sidebar widget? The new shortcode is missing core features such as using predefined thumbnails from media library.

    You can find older versions of the plugin on the Advanced section, @anonamix.
