    Hey,
just found out that FV Player 8 changes the way content is saved to the database even when it is just activated but not in use (no FV shortcode or block anywhere).
    See here for details.

Is this a setting somewhere, or does FV Player 8 really filter all content for some reason?

    Hello philbee,

Thank you for letting us know about the issue.

I checked your link for details. I see that the backslash got removed.

Please try to enable wp-admin -> FV Player -> Settings -> Integrations/Compatibility -> Disable database conversion (for more information about the purpose of the setting please read our Integrations/Compatibility Options documentation page).

Will it prevent the issue you are running into?

I was able to reproduce the issue on a test site, althogh we do not remove the backslash in our code. Using that setting did avoid the issue.

I also put in a fix, as I found FV Player would update the post content even if no FV Player got actually converted.

    Thanks,
    Martin

    Hi Martin,

thanks a lot for the heads-up!

Pretty likely this setting is indeed what created the issue – I’ll try it out at a later date, as right now is an especially bad time for the page to not work correctly (which is why I overreacted a bit to the error).

    Best, Phil
