Please re-test esc_sql() function

This function is creating alphabetical and numeric values into the { } brackets while an RSS feed comes with a percentage value.

For ex., Feed: WordPress stock rose 5% yesterday.
Output: WordPress stock rose 5 {AC24B3C41849A39644791FA5B0A5D7FCC33FB87ED6DEA0218E735A8C23EA3F70} yesterday.

By removing the esc_sql() function, you will see the proper output.
