    I have been receiving warning messages for months since upgrading WP-Optimize. The message is as follows:
    [06-Sep-2025 20:19:12 UTC] PHP Warning: Undefined array key "scheme" in /home/xxxx/public_html/wp/wp-content/plugins/wp-optimize/wp-optimize.php on line 1920

    I didn’t worry about it until now, because I thought it would be fixed and a new update issued, but perhaps nobody else has noticed.

    I am using WP-Optimize 4.2.4 – running on: PHP 8.3.24, MySQL 10.6.22 – Linux

    Hi!
    A quick look at the code throwing that warning shows that everything should be working fine, unless certain parts of your WP environment are not functioning properly.

    Did you make any form of customization on your sites upload directory? If so, that could be a trigger.

    You can also try resetting the permissions of your site files and folders. Your hosting provider should be able to help with this.

    Let us know if that helps.

    Hi – considering returning to use the plugin again after a long absence, however curious about the custom image upload folder location — many of us old folk have used the custom upload folder trick for better security and having images outside the wp-content folder — does this affect the plugin?

    e.g.,

    /root/images/

    vs

    /root/wp-content/uploads/

    Thanks!

    As long as WP knows where you uploads directory is, you should be able to do this, the code base uses the following to get the path:

    $uploads = wp_get_upload_dir();
