    Now I am having problem with the permissions. When logged in as a subscriber files cannot be previewed from the table list, but they can be previewed if not logged in as a subscriber.. Logged in as admin works fine..

    What is the error message you are receiving when logging in as a subscriber.

    It shows a popup alert that says “Preview is not available for this file.”

    I have found the issue, and release a new version soon that should correct the problem.

    I’m having an issue that might be related. I log in as a user with Editor role. Using the frontend upload button I upload a file (Hello World.pdf) with private visibility. The file is not visible to me. I login as as admin user. The file is visible to me. Editor role has the following permissions:
    Allow to Upload
    Allow to Upload Frontend
    View Private Posts and Pages.
    I’m using version 3.9.3.

    thanks for the report, I have found the issue and will release a new version soon that will fixed the problem.
