Hello,
This usually happens when you already have a post or page with the same name, WordPress defaults to adding a 2 to let you know there is another post/page with same name. (This happens even if you have deleted the original post/page).
I usually get around it by slightly changing the name of the second post/page in the slug eg, a podcast or the podcast or pcast
That usually does the trick.

Hi,
yes I think you’re right. I did have a page once named “podcast” and then deleted it.
But isn’t there any other solution? I would really like to name it “podcast” since this is the easiest name.
Hello,
You can still call it podcast and just edit the slug to an alternative name – go to page/post – edit the slug that you see under the page name.
That is as far as my current knowledge goes – I’ll do some research and get back to you if I find any other alternatives

Is the original Podcast page in the trash? It will still be ‘using up’ the permalink until it’s permanently deleted.
Hi,
but I mean that is the problem 😉 I can’t change the name of the permalink (is that what you mean by “slug”?). The page title is still “podcast” since there’s no problem with that.
You can’t have two pages with the same slug. If you previously created a page with that slug, you’ll need to delete it permanently or change the slug.
Hi,
no I’ve permanently deleted it a while ago.
Or do I maybe need to delete it additionally on the FTP?
Hey I think I solved it. I just installed the plugin Custom Permalinks and now it seems to work!
